After a full day tour of the capital, Hanoi, with all its museums and temples, relax on board of a wooden junk in beautiful Halong Bay. Experience bustling Ho Chi Minh City, enjoy a boat trip on the Mekong River and crawl in the narrow tunnels of Cu Chi.
ITINERARY
Day 01 Hanoi – Arrival (D)
Meet on arrival at Hanoi/Noi Bai International Airport and transfer to hotel.
In the afternoon (depending on the arrival flight) visit the Temple of Literature, built in the 11th century as Vietnam’s first university and the Hoan Kiem Lake with the Ngoc Son Temple. Discover the old quarter of Hanoi with a panoramic cyclo.

Day 02 Hanoi – Halong - Hanoi (B/L/D)

Early morning, drive 160 km east of Hanoi to Halong. Arrive in Halong and board a private junk for a 4-hour cruise. Discover Halong Bay, listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. “Dragon descending to the sea“ as it is known in Vietnamese, picturesque Halong Bay has more than 3,000 limestone islets rising from the clear emerald water, many of them containing beautiful grottoes such as Thien Cung and Dau Go. Seafood lunch on board.
Drive back to Ha Noi.

Day 03 Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel.

City tour of Hanoi visiting Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed Monday & Friday and the whole October and November for maintenance) and his simple stilt house, the One-Pillar Pagoda, and the Army Museum (closed on Mondays). Lunch at a local restaurant.
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Transfer to the hotel.
Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 04 Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel.
Pick up at the hotel and drive to Cu Chi (75 km) to visit an amazing complex of underground tunnels used during the Vietnam War. Return to Ho Chi Minh city and have lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon we visit the History Museum (closed on Mondays. When Day 4 falls on Monday we will visit the War Remnants Museum instead) and we will make a quick photo stop at famous tourist sites such as the Reunification Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office.

Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation.
Day 05 Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta (B/L/D)

Drive to My Tho (2-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City) to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda. My Tho is a prosperous town of 170,000 inhabitants in the Mekong Delta. It is famous for its extensive orchards and immense rice fields. Enjoy a boat ride on the Mekong River and visit an orchard on an island. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. Lunch en route. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 06 Ho Chi Minh City – Departure (B)
Breakfast at hotel.
Leisure time until tranfer to Ho Chi Minh City / Tan Son Nhat International Airport for departure.
